FULL ARTICLE:There are many endangered and extinct species in the world. Everyone should help to protect them.
The Giant Panda is an example of an endangered species. It lived in mountain lowlands from Myanmar through northern Vietnam and eastern and southern of China. Now, they are mostly in captivity of zoos around the world. They eat bamboo and are becoming extinct as their skin is attractive and poachers hunt then down for their attractive fur. Also, farming development and human activities have destroyed bamboo forests which are their habitats.
The Monk Seal is another example of endangered animal. They eat lobsters, eels, octopus and reef fishes. They live in the Mediterranean Sea and are nocturnal. They rest from nocturnal activities and sleep on the beach. They are poached by hunters and are affected by the presence of humans at the feeding and breeding grounds.
Like those mentioned above, the Majestic Tigers are also close to extinction. They live in vast mangroves and eat meat. They are hunted for their body parts which are used in traditional medicines.
Another endangered species is a rare species of dolphins. These dolphins are blind and small enough for a human to hold. They live in the Mediterranean Sea, like the Monk Seals, and feed on small marine life. Sometimes, they are accidentally caught in fishing nets and therefore will die. Also, some hunters extract their oil from their bodies.
The Tasmanian wolf has been extinct for about 62 years. They ate meat and are extinct because of human activities. Their habitat is not confirmed. They are actually not wolfs or dogs but is a marsupial like kangaroos.
